After merger, LEDIC makes Memphis home, plans 300 jobs

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — LEDIC Realty Company will locate its new national headquarters in Memphis. LEDIC, a fully integrated manager, owner, and developer of multifamily properties across the United States, will invest $10.2 million in a new facility and create 300 jobs in Tennessee.

LEDIC was founded in Memphis in 1979. The company merged with a firm based in Montgomery, Alabama, earlier this year and decided to make its national headquarters and training facility in Memphis.

Currently located at 2650 Thousand Oaks Blvd., LEDIC will relocate all personnel and equipment to 555 S. Perkins Rd., a four-story, 60,000 square foot building. The company will retrofit the space to create a large training facility housing classrooms outfitted with new technology and equipment.

LEDIC has acquired over 9,000 apartment units in 2015, making it one of the fastest growing real estate firms in the nation. LEDIC manages 40,000 apartment units and employs over 1,100 workers nationwide.

Approximately 100 of the new jobs will be based at the national headquarters. The remaining 200 jobs will be distributed throughout the state, including management, construction, maintenance and leasing positions.

“Over half of all apartments in Shelby County under construction today are managed by LEDIC,” said LEDIC CEO Pierce Ledbetter. “As we participate in significant development projects across Shelby County — including Chisca, Sears Concourse, Fieldstone, Carrington at Shilling Farms — we aim to improve the entire city and county.”

Those interested in applying for a position with LEDIC can submit resumes at www.ledic.com.
